What you need to choose depends mainly on the conditions of the golf course you are playing or going to play.
A Spiked shoe provides more traction on rolling and softer courses, thereby giving more support and better stability.
Spiked shoes offer much better grip, because the spikes are larger and dig into the ground better than the soft “nubs” typically found on a spike less golf shoe.
If you typically play in a more hilly type golf course or used to playing it wetter conditions, spiked shoes would perform better.
Shoes without spikes or spike-less, on the other hand, give you the required grip through these small bumps or nubs, there are usually significantly more of these than on a spiked shoe.
Spike-less golf shoes are suitable for flatter golf courses, however I have had a few pairs of these type of golf shoe and the golf course I play is quite hilly and we suffer with rain, and I have not had a problem with grip or slipping.
The Spike-less golf shoe is lighter in weight and more flexible than spiked ones. The golf shoes have really progressed since I was a junior golfer and you can even wear them as normal footwear.
As times have changed and golf shoes have progressed long gone are the days when you would wear metal spikes in your shoes, if you have golf shoes with metal spikes I would recommend contacting the golf course you are going to play because they are banned on most golf courses because of the damage they cause to the golf course.
