FootJoy Tour X Boa

The FootJoy Tour X Boa as stated has the Boa technology featured in this shoe, so you do not require laces.

Personally, I have a lot of friends that rate the Boa system,  I have also owned a pair of FootJoy with the Boa tightening system on a pair of Footjoy Pro SL, but I wasn’t one hundred percent sold with the idea.

My personal preference is old school laces, as sometimes I didn’t feel I could tighten the spin dial to my preferred fit.

If you are looking at this system, I would go try them.

Ok on to the shoe, what is not to like, great looks, comfortable to wear and packed with technology.

I found the shoe very stable, which for me helped promote nice balance through the golf swing. This shoe is also 100% Waterproof.

Let’s see what FootJoy say about these Tour X Boa.

They are stating that the shoe features the PowerStrap and Launchpod technologies, which are designed to enhance comfort and stability.

The Tour X was designed for the Tour player in mind who has a fast swing, so the shoe helps with stability and efficient weight transfer for the golfer.

The only real negative I can see for some people who want to buy this shoe, is the shoe only comes with one colour choice. The available colour is a nice neutral white and grey, but it does have a red trim around the bottom of the shoe and also encompasses a red sole which I like but some people may not.

FootJoy Tour X

The FootJoy Tour X is the same construction as the Tour X Boa.

The shoe just has laces instead of the BOA system.

As I mentioned on the Tour X BOA review, this would be my preference between the two.

Even though we have two colour choices with the Tour X and only one with the Tour X Boa I prefer the colour choice of the Tour X BOA. Which just shows that we are all far too picky. But the Tour X in the white and Blue for me is a  lovely looking golf shoe.

As with the Tour X BOA, when you are wearing these, they are just great, great looks, in my experience they are super comfortable to wear and packed with technology, I found the shoe very stable.

Which I felt would promote nice balance through the golf swing.

This shoe is also 100% Waterproof. They are very similar to wearing a trainer or sneaker, there is enough to worry about on the golf course to not have a problem with your feet.

Let’s see what FootJoy say about the Tour X.

They are stating that the shoe features the PowerStrap and Launchpod technologies which are designed to enhance comfort and stability. The Tour X was designed for the Tour player in mind who has a fast swing, so the shoe helps with stability and efficient weight transfer.

The Footjoy Tour X has two colour choices

  • White/Navy with a blue trim
  • Black.

FootJoy DryJoy Tour

The Footjoy DryJoy has been around for decades, this was the real first golf shoe I wanted as a junior, well before the more sneaker type golf shoe hit the golf shops.

In my experience the DryJoy was the shoe to buy for winter golf, as you knew your feet would stay dry.

The DryJoy is a shoe which fits  nice and feels solid, and if you want to dress a bit more traditional then the DryJoy Tour has a real classic look and feel.

The shoe is very stable and, in my experience, the DryJoy is very good in winter.

It would not be a shoe I would wear in the warmer months as I want a lighter more flexible golf shoe.

The DryJoy Tour has three colour choices

  • Black,
  • White
  • White/Brown.

FJ Fury

The FJ Fury is worn by a number of PGA Tour players with the likes of Nick Watney and Bernd Weisberger to name two.

The shoe is a very athletic and in my opinion has a very divisive style which you will either love or hate.

FootJoy are stating that they have designed and developed the FJ Fury to add flair to your golf game.

The FJ Fury golf shoe has a leather construction and also incorporates an engineered mesh which is supposed to help you be more athletic.

They have also included the Laser plus fit technology in the shoe, which has been designed to offer a full rounded toe, the shoe then narrows across your forefoot and your instep, and then narrows at the heel.

Footjoy have stated that the shoe is waterproof under normal use for one year.

In my opinion I would not want to wear these when it is really wet underfoot and raining hard.

The FJ Fury has Four colour choices,

  • White/Red
  • Black/Red
  • Grey/Lime
  • Navy/White

FootJoy Contour

FootJoy have created the Contour and it is without a doubt an extremely comfortable shoe to wear, these are like wearing a pair of slippers, I also think they look great.

Let’s see what FootJoy are saying about the Contour.

They are stating that they are providing unrivalled comfort which has been tested by millions of golfers.

That’s a big statement, I would like to see the statistics on that one!

They are also stating the shoe has a NappaLUXE leather Upper and the shoe is waterproof.

Personally, I would not wear these on a damp golf course never mind a wet one.

For me I agree they are really comfortable, and I would wear them on a trip overseas when you can guarantee great weather.

The Contour has three colour choices,

  • White
  • Gray
  • Black

Conclusion

FootJoy make some great golf shoes and the latest line up do not disappoint.

The Spiked Range of golf shoe from this manufacturer are high quality and they have a very varied range of options, which include a lot of different styles of golf shoe that are fit for various weather and golf course conditions.
