What would life be without a barrage of choices? A lot easier, perhaps but also far less varied.
Golf grips come in various sizes and thicknesses, and it is crucial that you find a size and thickness that suits your hands.
Much like the above, the size you choose will be based on your personal preference – it can be beneficial to try out a few different grips in store to get a feel for what works best for you.
There are mainly four sizes of grip, Junior, Standard, Midsize and Oversize or sometimes these grips are called Jumbo.
My personal preference for me is Midsize, but I have chosen that after a lot of testing.
These can also be altered further with layers of tape underneath the grip or ‘wrap’.
This has been carried out for many years and your local golf professional should be able to advise on this.
A very basic rule of thumb is follows.
If you have
Medium/large glove then a standard grip should be fine.
Large glove would be a mid-size grip.
Extra-large would be an oversized grip.
This is personal preference I know people who play with standard grips and have an extra-large glove, it is down to personal choice, feel and preference.
